Children and the cold - our experience

Hello,

In today's post I write about Our experience and how we fight against colds.

I am a mother of two and a half years old girl. She had never been ill so far that we had to buy antibiotics. As cold begin, we have already perfected our rituals. Everything we introduced from medication and time for their use, as well as other specific aids, we counseled at pediatricians. I also recommend to you that before you give anything to your children, you should consult your doctor.

Nose leak- biggest pain

My daughter is simply doesnt like when someone is doing something on her head or her face, especially when she have a cold. So from this you can conclude that we did not wear straps with bows and  caps, so my fight with the nose blowing  was very difficult. At each touch when I want to do something about her nose, there is rebellion, sudden turning of the head, crying. It was hard to look at, but I have to somehow help the child even though she is opposed.
Before, we used a hand pump that seemed pretty practical. I can carry it everywhere with me.

And I thought it was good, -children do not know how to blow their nose so this is going to be okay for starters. And it was. Although with that hand pump, that does not get a lot out of it, but I thought – better that, than nothing. Even today I know to have it in my purse.

Finally, I dared and bought a nose pump that puts it as a continuation on the vacuum cleaner.

I've been against this for a long time. The first reason was that my girl was afraid of the sound of the vacuum cleaner. While some children are loveing a"white noise", the sound of a vacuum cleaner or hair dryer, my child would start crying. The other reason was that I did not want to consider anything like this because it seemed scary.

I can say today that I was deceiving. In conversation with a pediatrician and reading the opinions of other moms I bought that continuation and I was thrilled. As she is older now, this fear of the vacuum cleaner sound has disappeared in time, and with playing  a cartoons and a songs we can blow her nose. We get rid of it would say almost everything out, if not all. She sleep all night so nice.

I do not want to think I've made a mistake since I did not buy that extension before, i just folow my mother's instinct, but I certainly recommend this type of product in consultation with a pediatrician.

What do you do when your children have a cold?

We want you to have a nice and warm winter, and share your thoughts and experiences.
